Samsung Smart Home

Physical + digital experiential design, storytelling, app design, user journey development and CRM program for Samsung

One of Samsung’s big initiatives going forward is to show how all of their smart products — phones, watches, TVs, refrigerators, washing machines, etc… — work together seamlessly to improve our lives. At their flagship 837 building in NYC, they wanted to create an experience that showcased their connected ecosystem of products and asked us to create a vision for it and then build the experience.

We mapped out the space, sketched up the experiences, role-played our way through the visitor journeys, created hundreds of pieces of content to play on the devices, and crafted stories that would guide visitors through everything. In the end we converted half of their second floor space into a mock home that allowed visitors to experience dozens of Samsung products working in unison. Simple voice commands lowered smart blinds, dimmed the lights, started the fireplace, turned on the TV, and set the right temperature along with dozens of other fun scenarios to try. It’s a vision for a connected future that is possible today.
